5e Wild West, Gaslight, Steampunk and Victorian RPGs
It’s come to my attention through various Kickstarter projects and searches on DriveThruRPG that there are a lot of 5e games coming out set in the above settings, and I’m going to list them as well as some that I think are in adjacent settings.
Wild West
Shooting Iron by Mad Mutant Games is a mashup of D20 Modern classes and other rules imported onto a 5e ruleset. It’s a 239-page softcover with classes weapons, equipment, lots of reference tables, and things that would round out a nice Western game. They needed a 100% 5e ruleset and something other than a single-column MS Word layout.
Shotguns and Sorcery has a 5e-based book
Western 5e by Chamomile is brief, it’s not as extensive as if say Sidewinder was converted to 5e, it is a thin 42pg softcover and PDF with classes and equipment.
Tribality has Gunslinger Wild West and Steampunk pieces you can buy for 5e
EN World ENsider has some Firearms and Gunslinger class supplements for 5e
Gaslight & Victorian
Battlefield Press has a planned but unreleased Gaslight Victorian Fantasy 5e, the 85% playable BETA is available now.
Cubicle 7 has a planned but unreleased Victoriana 5e. Their 2021 Free RPG Day supplement Going Underground can be found in various stores online.
MT Black has a 5e-based Victorian Horror called Whispers in the Dark
Barewood Press has the Gaslight Toolkit which is supposed to be 5e and other OSR games compatible
Pulpy and Genre-Adjacent offerings
Amazing Adventures 5e version can be used for all kinds of pulp stuff
WETA Workshop has Dr. Grordbort’s, a 5e-based Space pulp adventure game with Steampunk elements
Dream Realm Storytellers has a 5e-based Bloodpunk setting which is kind of Steampunk but things run on blood
Michael Tresca has a 222-page book called 5E RPG: Steampunk Adventures which has notes about fantasy species and cultures, class options, different innovations, and tech levels, as well as automatons.
That’s what I have so far.
I’m trying to move these into the genres they emulate and describe their contents and what parts of the RPG rules they cover.
