Meet Winston London Special Cyborg Task Force
People name things, the SCTF had a Bulldog set of riot control armor and that was that until the ACTF started importing British Bulldog Smith & Wesson .500 revolvers from the states for reliability tests. At the moment nobody knew which bulldog Leona meant when she said better ring the bulldog, the team affectionately renamed the power armor ‘Winston’. Apparently, the actual riot control unit has been naming their bulldogs since the model was first acquired.

Winston is a suit of Bulldog riot control power armor given to the SCTF when combat model cyborgs started wreaking havoc in the city. Made of Titanium composite alloy, the unit weighs a svelte 2,700 kilos. The Bulldog has a top speed of 16kph, and can lift 500kg (85 stone).

Equipment
Heads-Up Display. A Bulldog’s controls have displays that provide information to the pilot without distracting them from the battle. This display includes systems diagnostics, targeting data, and a clearer view of the unit’s surroundings than its visor could otherwise provide.
Loudspeaker. The pilot can communicate with anyone outside via their loudspeaker.
Riot Control Power Armor – Model X5 “Bulldog”
Overview:
- Designation: Riot Control Power Armor Model X5 “Sentinel”
- Manufacturer: CyberArm Dynamics Ltd.
- Task Force Assignment: London Riot Control unit and Special Cyborg Task Force
- Purpose: The Sentinel power armor was specifically designed to enhance the task force’s capabilities in dealing with high-risk riots and civil unrest, where conventional law enforcement measures prove inadequate against heavily augmented and cybernetically enhanced individuals.
Development and Prototyping:
- Initiation: The concept for the Bulldog power armor was proposed in response to the escalating incidents of cybernetically-augmented rioters causing widespread havoc in the city. It was initiated as a joint project between CyberArm Dynamics Ltd. and the London Metropolitan Police Force.
- Prototyping Phase: The development of the Bulldog power armor underwent an extensive prototyping phase. The design team focused on creating a balance between mobility, defensive capabilities, and non-lethal crowd control measures. Numerous test models were created and refined through rigorous field trials and feedback from law enforcement personnel.
Key Features and Specifications:
- Durability: The power armor is constructed using advanced composite materials, providing enhanced protection against physical and cybernetic attacks.
- Mobility: Despite its heavy-duty armor, the suit incorporates the lightest weight exoskeleton technology available, allowing the wearer to maintain a degree of maneuverability greater than the lorry that carries it, but not by much.
- Non-lethal Crowd Control Measures: The power armor is equipped with integrated riot control weaponry, such as retractable energy batons, kinetic impact rounds, and high-frequency sound emitters, all designed to incapacitate rioters without causing lethal harm.
- Cybernetic Integration: The suit incorporates neural interface technology, allowing the wearer to control and access the suit’s functions through thought commands, providing an intuitive and seamless user experience.
- Sensory Enhancements: The power armor features an array of advanced sensors, including thermal vision, motion tracking, and facial recognition capabilities, enhancing situational awareness for the wearer and the task force.
Field Deployment and Success:
- Operational Deployment: After successful field trials and thorough training, the Bulldog power armor was officially deployed to the London Riot Control unit, and later the Special Cyborg Task Force.
- Mission Successes: The power armor has proven highly effective in quelling violent riots and somewhat effective in containing cybernetically-enhanced criminals. Its non-lethal crowd control measures have minimized casualties while swiftly bringing order to chaotic situations.
- Adaptability and Upgrades: Based on the feedback and experiences of task force operatives, the Bulldog power armor underwent several upgrades and software optimizations to remain at the forefront of riot control technology.
Controversies and Public Perception:
- Civil Liberties Concerns: The deployment of the Bulldog power armor sparked debates about the potential abuse of power and civil liberties violations. Critics questioned the militarization of law enforcement and the use of such advanced technology against civilians.
- Public Perception: While some citizens have expressed concerns, many also view the power armor as a necessary response to the escalating threat of cybernetic-enhanced criminals and rioters. Its track record of preserving public safety has garnered support from various sectors.
